First and foremost, there are two types of travel insurance: (1) Travel Insurance (2) Travel MEDICAL Insurance.
Travel insurance, covers travel expenses and include assistant services such as emergency travel arrangements, medical referral, help with lost or stolen passport documents, lost luggage assistance, emergency cash transfer, embassy or consulate referral, emergency translations, and prescription replacement. For these polices we encourage self-application unless there are questions or difficulties with enrollment.
Travel MEDICAL insurance would cover accidents, injuries, and illnesses outside of one’s home country. Standard health insurance often times becomes severely limited or non-existent when you travel abroad. It generally would not cover high-dollar coverages such as medical evacuation or repatriation of remains.
