Financial Advisor / Participant Education
As a member of the BHS Financial Services team, the Participant Education Advisor will assist employees of our existing client companies with 401k education, enrollment assistance, rollovers, and general retirement planning and advisory services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with Senior Financial Services Advisor to service 401k clients
- Schedule and present group employee education meetings at client sites
- Schedule and conduct one-on-one employee meetings at client sites
- Assist participants with rollovers and other financial planning needs
- Establish long term relationships with employees to assist them to and through retirement
- Create and document work flow policies and procedures for a growing department
- Stay informed on current events and economic factors that can affect the financial market
- Create various plan participant letters specific to each client (ex. enrollment letters, plan transition letters, termination letters, etc.)
- Be aware of specific 401k plan policies including eligibility, enrollment, matching contributions, vesting, and more for client 401k plans
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Securities licenses required
- Basic financial industry knowledge in stocks, bonds, mutual funds, portfolio creation, life insurance, and retirement planning
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Basic understanding of Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) rules and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) 401k plan documents
- Organizing and coordinating skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize work tasks
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Professional software, internet, email, and data entry
- Ability to multitask and prioritize with numerous interruptions
- Ability to problem solve
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personality types
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
